It was quite by chance that I got into taxidermy, my mum had left me some money and I wanted to buy something I would love forever and remember her by, so I bought "ASLAN". He came to me in very good condition but was really faded due to being left in the sunny porch of his previous owners house looking out the front door. He also came attached to a huge rock which prevented me from getting him up into the loft room. The first job I had to do was remove him off the rock and get him upstairs so I could restore him. Removal of the rock meant his feet needed attention, there was also some fur loss in small areas of his body and he needed a complete re dye. Phew! this was a mammoth task but I used my skills in art to bring him back to the magnificent creature you see here in the pictures above. Thanks mum!
This in turn whet my appetite to find out more about this seemingly long dead (pardon the pun) subject and I started to look on line for more pieces to adopt; I came across a tiny little mouse on an auction site which I bought. The lady who had him lived only a few mins away and offered to teach me this bizarre art form. Well! I loved it, it satisfied my artistic side as well as my interest in anatomy and my love for animals. The lovely lady and I remain friends to this day. And the rest as they say is history.

INTERIORS....My other passion
I have added red velvet curtaining to the arch of the conservatory as well as all the windows to establish the purpose of the two rooms between dining and kitchen. The curtains can be closed across for the intimacy of candlelit dinner parties, this gives a lovely warm feel to the room when the window curtains are also drawn.
