CREATURE CREATIONS

All the items you see here are already sold, but each piece can be recreated as bespoke commissions. Every piece is a "unique one of a kind" so will have its slight differences. This enables the purchaser to ask for specific colours and poses of the animal and its props. All subject to availability naturally! Rats, mice, rabbits, hamsters and chicks are always available as they are frozen reptile food, but the other creatures are either natural deaths or come up on Ebay ready for taxidermy. Important information about the animals I work with!

The animals that I restore are usually antiques from an age when humans thought nothing of killing these majestic and beautiful creatures to satisfy and gratify their own greed and importance, almost to the point of extinction in some cases and definately the case in the demise of the dodo. Unfortunately some areas of the world today still carry out this terrible trade for money. We must remember that there was a time before television and the internet where the only way to show the indigenous creatures of the world was to bring back the "trophy". I believe that by restoring the antiques from the past it gives the animals a new lease of "life".
I would also like to clarify that the animals I use in creating taxidermy are either natural deaths, road traffic accidents, peoples pets that have sadly passed or reptile food which is humanely despatched for the purpose of feeding other animals.

This creation is part taxidermy and part porcelain, this style is reminiscent of the victorians love of animals dressed as humans, otherwise known as anthropomorphic.

A truly beautiful Black Unicorn foal created out of a new born lamb that sadly did not make it. The lamb started life cream and brown but I wanted to turn him into a black rarer more illusive unicorn that's not as angelic as the whites.
